
This was where it all began. A simple mini-model design for the first show that Spicola directed at Chaparral and the first I designed and tech directed. Fools is a very funny farce written by Neil Simon. We got a huge turnout for the show averaging around 350 per night. That was when the shows only ran for two nights!

The buildings themselves were very cartoony, but I kept saying, in this village, they would only have idiot designers and builders anyway, so that gave us a little flexibility. I also was not used to having any sort of a budget, so I was having the students re use everything that was in stock for the flats. From this show to Fiddler there was a quantum leap in regards to overall look. Still, this was a solid start for Spicomo productions, which spanned four years and 11 productions.

This and the other two pictures below were wagons that were brought in depending on the scene.
